Interviewee: Dr. Jeffrey S. Mogil

Dr. Jeffrey S. Mogil is a distinguished neuroscientist specializing in pain research. He holds the E.P. Taylor Chair in Pain Studies and serves as the Canada Research Chair in Genetics of Pain at McGill University. Dr. Mogil completed his B.Sc. (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Toronto in 1988 and earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from UCLA in 1993. Following a postdoctoral fellowship in Portland, Oregon, he joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as an Assistant/Associate Professor in Psychology from 1996 to 2001. In 2001, he transitioned to McGill University, where he has made seminal contributions to the field of pain genetics and is a recognized authority on sex differences in pain and pain testing methods in laboratory mice.
