Guns N' Radio #213 - Another Version of the Truth (Live)
Welcome to another episode of Guns n radio, where we review and discuss all things Guns n' Roses and the wider rock music scene. Today, we have a special episode in store for you as our co-host, Dustin, is in a pretty shitty mood after having messed up his back. But, as always, the show must go on, so we soldier on with our review of "Another Version of the Truth" by Adler. Despite Dustin's injury, we're determined to give you a high-energy, in-depth review of this song, which was released in 2012 as part of the album "Back From the Dead" by Adler, the band formed by former Guns N' Roses drummer, Steven Adler. We start off by discussing the song's driving, hard-rock riff, which immediately grabs our attention and sets the tone for the rest of the track. We talk about the impressive musicianship on display, with Adler's tight drumming and the guitar work of Michael Thomas and Lonny Paul, both of whom have played with other notable rock acts such as Drowning Pool and Filter. Moving on to the lyrics, we explore the theme of emotional pain and the search for truth, with lines like "I'm sick of living in a world that's just a lie" and "I want to find another version of the truth". We discuss the song's relatable message, as many listeners may have experienced feelings of disillusionment or a sense of being trapped in a false reality at some point in their lives. Despite Dustin's discomfort, we push through and wrap up the episode with our final thoughts on "Another Version of the Truth." We give our overall rating and discuss how the song fits into the wider canon of rock music. We also reflect on the importance of honesty and authenticity in music, and how this song embodies those values. Tune in to this episode of Guns n radio for an honest and engaging discussion of "Another Version of the Truth" by Adler, and to hear us soldier on through our co-host's back pain to deliver the rock analysis you know and love!

Shotcast Saturday #84 - Ain't Talkin' About Love
Get TurboTax today and see if NOT doing your taxes is right for you! https://turbo.tax/a9pyqnam Let's try this again... 15 years ago (sometime last week) Van Halen was inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame by Velvet Revolver. As part of the ceremony, VR would preform "Ain't Talkin' About Love". Today we're taking a look at this special cover. "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" is a classic hard rock song by the American rock band Van Halen. The song was released in 1978 as the second single from their self-titled debut album. The song was written by the band's guitarist, Eddie Van Halen, and it has become one of their most popular and enduring songs. The song features a driving, heavy guitar riff that is instantly recognizable, and a catchy chorus that is easy to sing along to. The lyrics are somewhat cryptic and have been interpreted in different ways, but they generally deal with the idea of a man who is not interested in a serious, long-term relationship and just wants to have a good time with a woman without any emotional attachment. The chorus repeats the phrase "ain't talkin' 'bout love" as a sort of mantra or declaration of this attitude. The song has been covered by numerous artists over the years, including Velvet Revolver, who occasionally played it live as a tribute to their rock predecessors. "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" remains a popular classic rock song and a testament to Eddie Van Halen's guitar virtuosity and songwriting talent.

It is a high-energy, blues-influenced track that showcases the raw and powerful vocals of lead singer Axl Rose, along with the skilled guitar playing of Slash. The song begins with a catchy guitar riff that immediately draws the listener in, before launching into a driving rhythm section that sets the pace for the entire track. Axl's vocals are raspy and intense, as he sings about the ups and downs of life and the importance of family and loved ones. Throughout the song, Slash's guitar work is front and center, with his distinctive style of playing adding an extra layer of energy and emotion to the music. The band's tight musicianship is on full display, with each member contributing to the overall sound and feel of the track. Overall, "Mama Kin" is a classic Guns N' Roses song that perfectly captures the raw energy and passion of their early years.
