22. Getting to know people 101

Today we’re going through a non-exhaustive guide of questions you want to consider while getting to know people. You can also use these to re-evaluate any current relationships in your life to better understand who you choose to be with and how they do or don’t mesh with your values and preferences.

Surface level:

What's their vibe?
How do they speak about themselves?
How do they speak about others?
Do they take care of themselves?
How do you feel around them?

Deeper levels:

What do they care about?
How do they make decisions?
How do they take responsibility?
How are they similar to the people closest to them?
How are their boundaries?
Do they respect themselves?
How do they get their needs met?
How do they reciprocate?

Even deeper levels:

How do they handle conflict?
What patterns repeat in their life? What is consistent?
How do they handle a boundary set on them?
How do they handle uncertainty?
How do they handle change?
How do they make meaning in their world?
Do you feel like you’re being your fullest, most authentic self around them?
