Norway's Strangest Unsolved Mystery

Norway's Strangest Unsolved Mystery

On May 31, 1995, a young woman checked into Oslo’s luxury Plaza Hotel under the fictional name "Jennifer Fairgate," providing a fake Belgian address and completely bypassing standard identification checks. Days later, a security guard knocked on her room door to collect payment, only to immediately hear a violent sound ring out from the double-locked room. Inside, investigators found her deceased, holding firearm with its serial numbers professionally erased via acid. The mystery deepened as police discovered she had stripped all identification from the room, cut the labels out of her clothing, and left behind an unusual cache of extra ammunition. Later isotope testing revealed she was likely a 24-year-old of German origin, but her true identity and the intelligence-style tradecraft surrounding her death remain one of Europe's most baffling unsolved mysteries.
