David Metcalfe is an independent researcher, multimedia specialist, and digital communications strategist whose work explores the cultural dimensions of anomalous experience. Through his research, writing, and public presentations, he examines the ways folklore, religion, technology, media, and belief shape human encounters with the unknown. He is the founder of the Liminal Analytics: Applied Research Collaborative and serves as Scholar in Virtual Residence at the Windbridge Institute.

Metcalfe has taught and collaborated with scholars including Diana Pasulka on projects exploring anomalistics and cultural epistemology. His published and collaborative work spans topics ranging from UFO belief and contemporary mythology to Latin American folk traditions, including extensive research on Santa Muerte.
