The Battle of Midway reaches its dramatic conclusion as the Imperial Japanese Navy suffers one of the most devastating defeats in its history. In Part 2, we examine the destruction of Japan's carrier strike force, the sinking of the carriers Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Hiryu, and the desperate efforts by the Japanese to salvage the operation.

Special guests & authors Trent Hone and Jon Parshall discuss how American dive bombers delivered a decisive blow, why Japanese counterattacks failed to reverse the tide, and how the loss of FOUR fleet carriers permanently shifted the balance of power in the Pacific. We also explore the aftermath of the battle, the casualty figures, and the legacy of Midway.
