How to Start Dating Again When You're Too Independent (The Summer of George #6)

Getting back on dating apps in your 40s sounded like the last thing I wanted to do. I've been single a while, I'm independent, and I'd gotten very comfortable in my own company. Every time someone brought up the apps, my answer was an immediate no. This summer I changed my mind.

I decided to put myself back out there, more approachable in the world and yes, back on the apps, but this time with a different attitude. I went in to have fun instead of dreading it, because I believe the energy you bring changes what you get back. One date in Scottsdale that was a hard no, to a date here in LA, which led to another, which led to a third date in Las Vegas.

In this The Summer of George update I get into what dating again after years of being single actually brings up, why I think humor is wildly underrated, and the little country bar moment in Vegas that made the whole trip. I also talk about the part nobody warns you about: figuring out how much of your life to share when you're a person whose whole thing is talking about her life.

Plus a seven-mile hike I did not plan on, the wildlife I was trying to avoid on the walk back, and why I keep coming back to the idea that every small decision compounds into the path you end up on.
