Why Nobody Counted Lindsay Clancy's Pills

Nine bottles, four months, more than one prescriber, and almost nothing gone out of any of them. That is what the prosecution entered into evidence on the opening day of testimony in the Lindsay Clancy trial, and the person they handed it to was the father of the three children who died. Patrick Clancy was the Commonwealth's first witness. Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague read him the counts bottle by bottle and asked whether he knew how many pills were missing from each. He did not. He said he was never keeping track, and that the context behind the numbers mattered. Nobody in the picture was tracking it. Not the husband, and according to two civil lawsuits now sitting in Norfolk Superior Court, not the people writing the prescriptions either.
