The Vault Expert | Black Feather Stories: Two Journeys, One Purpose

In this special live episode of The Vault Expert, Patti Katter introduces listeners to two members of The Black Feather Foundation whose paths to America were very different, yet whose commitment to service ultimately brought them together.

Program Director Iqbal Najimi and Volunteer Coordinator Marc Loi join Patti for an introductory conversation about their backgrounds, family histories, and the experiences that shaped their lives.

Marc shares a glimpse into his family's journey to the United States as a young child and reflects on the values of hard work, community, and service that have influenced his life.

Iqbal discusses his journey from Afghanistan and the events surrounding the collapse of Afghanistan in 2021, sharing some of the challenges, transitions, and opportunities that ultimately led him to the United States and to his work serving others through The Black Feather Foundation.

This episode serves as an introduction to both guests and their unique perspectives. While listeners will hear portions of their stories, this is only the beginning of the conversation.

Iqbal and Marc will return as guests on future episodes of The Vault Expert, where they will share more of their personal journeys and offer deeper discussions on leadership, service, veterans' issues, community engagement, immigration experiences, resilience, and the lessons they've learned along the way.

Their stories began worlds apart, but their commitment to helping others has brought them together through a shared mission of service.
