Entry #17: Raya Yarbrough - The Voice of Outlander's Skye Boat Song

We are so excited to introduce this episode of Droughtlander Diaries with our listeners. We sit down with musician and artist, Raya Yarbrough, the singer of the iconic Outlander theme that captivated us all during the first few seasons.

Raya shares her musical background with us and navigating motherhood as a working artist. Raya also reads an excerpt form her book during the podcast, relating to a very unique storyline of Jenny Fraser's during Outlander's first season.

They also touch on Raya's music and art projects, as well as her love story with Bear McCreary, who joins us for a few minutes during the recording. Raya, Bear, Jess and Sarah have a discussion about favorite versions of the Outlander theme. In this conversation, Raya Yarbrough discusses the evolution of the Outlander theme song and shares her favorite versions. She also talks about the impact of the theme song on the show and her personal favorites. Raya shares emotional moments she had while working on the theme song and reveals some of her hidden talents.
