#982 - "Reflecting Pool Authoritarianism, Trump the True Victim, and Previewing 2028 Issues!"

On this episode of I Doubt It Podcast, Jesse and Brittany discuss Donald Trump’s growing unrestrained authoritarian impulses as the case against Olympian David Hearn is dropped by US Attorney (and former Fox News host) Jeanine Pirro. In court documents detailing the lack of evidence, Jeanine Pirro attempts to blame the Department of Interior for withholding information that showed Donald Trump’s no-bid contractors are the reason the reflecting pool was falling apart and not innocent people who were sharing in the joy of Trump’s failure by trying to save a piece of the already detached bottom for themselves, Fox News’ role in promoting the doomed case from the beginning and how upset they are about having to issue corrections, with anchor Bret Baier clearly uninterested in the importance of the correction, Donald Trump’s cabinet meeting at Camp David, where he detailed his ongoing frustrations with Republicans Thom Tillis and John Cornyn standing in the way of confirming Todd Blanche as Attorney General over their opposition to his so-called ‘Anti-Weaponization fund’ and his demand that he and his family are forever protected from tax audits, and Arizona Republican Jay Feely who accidentally gave Democrats free promotion while appearing on Fox News to promote his own campaign. Jesse and Brittany also preview the priorities of the likely 2028 contenders, including Kamala Harris, who highlights expanding the court, revisiting the Electoral College, and prioritizing statehood for DC and Puerto Rico.
