CoreWeave surged after the AI spending frenzy spurred faster sales growth than anticipated, with sales expected to be $3.45 billion to $3.6 billion in the third quarter. The firm's backlog was $104 billion at the end of the quarter, and it inked more than $25 billion in new customer commitments after the period ended, suggesting that “AI demand remains strong”.

Super Micro Computer Inc. shares jumped after the company gave a revenue forecast for the current quarter that topped analysts’ estimates, a sign the booming artificial intelligence market continues to bolster sales of the company’s servers.

-Michael Halen, Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Restaurant and Foodservice Analyst, discusses restaurant earnings. Cava Group's sales rose faster than expected due to increased traffic and customers buying higher-priced proteins and extras such as pita chips.
Brinker International Inc. said it grew comparable sales of its Chili’s Grill & Bar chain, as the company continues to attract customers to the casual dining restaurants amid a broader industry slowdown.

-Jennifer Rie, Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Litigation Analyst, discusses the latest at Paramount Skydance. According to Bloomberg Intelligence: UK antitrust clearance on Aug. 6 of Paramount's Warner Bros. Discovery purchase leaves US litigation as the final obstacle to closing the $110 billion deal. With trial of a state challenge to the deal set for March 2, risks on both sides could spur settlement, though the states have reportedly resisted talks.
