Illegal Alien Charged in Great Falls Virginia Stabbing Murder

A 42-year-old mother was stabbed to death near a jogging trail in one of Virginia’s wealthiest neighborhoods. The suspect is a 19-year-old Salvadoran illegal alien who was caught and released at the border under the Biden administration—and remained free in Virginia under Governor Abigail Spanberger’s policies.

On Monday morning in Great Falls, Fairfax County, officers responded to Difficult Run Park after a jogger found Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston, unconscious in the parking lot near her 2011 Honda Civic with trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Fairfax County Police announced Wednesday the arrest of 19-year-old Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos in connection with the homicide. Fox News’ Bill Melugin reported that a federal source confirmed Campos is a Salvadoran illegal alien who was caught and released by the Biden administration in El Paso, Texas, in April 2024.

This is not an isolated case. Fairfax County has seen a deadly pattern of violence involving illegal aliens, including the February stabbing death of Stephanie Minter at a bus stop. Local reporting has highlighted that three of the last four killers in the county were illegal aliens. Governor Spanberger’s day-one executive order directed state and local law enforcement not to cooperate with ICE. The result is that criminal illegal aliens remain in Virginia communities instead of being removed.

Virginia Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell previously blamed the Trump administration when asked about the Minter murder that occurred in his own district. Separately, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant convicted of groping multiple girls inside Fairfax High School is scheduled for release on September 3, 2026, raising new questions about ICE detainers and school policy.

Uriah Kiser breaks down the latest details, the political decisions that enabled this outcome, and what it means for public safety across the Commonwealth—from Great Falls to Bailey’s Crossroads and beyond. Virginia voters deserve clear information about who is being protected and who is being left exposed.

If you want straight reporting on Virginia politics and public safety without the spin, you’re in the right place.
