Did Jimmy Carter REALLY Lower the Flags for Elvis Presley?

When Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, flags were lowered, National Guard troops appeared at Graceland, and President Jimmy Carter issued an extraordinary statement mourning the King of Rock and Roll. But did President Carter acxtually order the American flag lowered for Elvis? In this EP Vault investigation, we go back to the documents, contemporary reports, White House records and firsthand accounts to separate fact from legend. We’ll examine Jimmy Carter’s relationship with Elvis Presley, their documented 1977 White House phone call, why Elvis was trying to help his longtime friend George Klein, what Carter later remembered about that troubling conversation, and what really happened after Elvis died. We’ll also investigate two claims that have been repeated for decades:Did Jimmy Carter order flags lowered to half-staff for Elvis Presley? And did Carter personally send the National Guard to Graceland? The real story includes a White House telephone record, an order from Tennessee Governor Ray Blanton, tens of thousands of mourners outside Graceland — and Jimmy Carter’s own words about the man he called a personal friend. This is the documented story of Elvis Presley and President Jimmy Carter.#ElvisPresley #JimmyCarter #ElvisHistory
