Adoption, Abortion & Choosing Life: Roland C. Warren on the Pro Abundant Life Movement

Adoption, Abortion & Choosing Life: Roland C. Warren on the Pro Abundant Life Movement

What does it really mean to support women facing an unplanned pregnancy—not only before a decision is made, but afterward as they build a future for themselves and their children?

In this episode of the A Act of Love Adoptions Podcast, we sit down with Roland C. Warren, President and CEO of Care Net and author of The Alternative to Abortion: Why We Must Be Pro Abundant Life, for an important conversation about abortion alternatives, adoption, pregnancy support, fatherhood, strong families, faith, and choosing life.

Roland shares the personal experience that shaped his perspective. While attending Princeton University, he and his then-girlfriend—now his wife of more than four decades—faced an unexpected pregnancy and the decision between abortion and choosing life. That experience became part of a journey that would ultimately influence his work in the pro-life movement.

Roland explains why he believes being pro-life must mean more than preventing abortion. His “pro abundant life” approach calls Christians and communities to surround women, children, fathers, and families with meaningful, long-term support.

We also explore the role adoption can play as one option for women facing an unplanned pregnancy, while recognizing that every woman deserves compassionate support, accurate information, and the opportunity to make an informed decision about her pregnancy.

This conversation covers:
* Adoption and alternatives to abortion
* Support for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy
* What “pro abundant life” means
* Roland Warren’s personal story of choosing life
* The importance of involved fathers
* Building and supporting strong families
* The role of churches and Christian communities
* Pregnancy resource centers and ongoing support
* Faith, discipleship, and the future of the pro-life movement

Whether you are a birth parent, adoptee, adoptive parent, adoption professional, pregnancy support professional, or someone interested in the conversation surrounding adoption and abortion, this episode offers a thought-provoking perspective on what it means to support life and families beyond pregnancy.
