Nanny's Birthday!!! (Part 1)

Welcome back to Two Sons and Me, and this episode is a special one, celebrating Nanny Faye's 82nd birthday. Between candles, cake, and the usual back and forth about whether she will ever remarry, the conversation turns heartfelt as Todd and Nanny reflect on getting older, staying grateful, and what it means to still feel young after all these years.

The episode also pays tribute to Dolly Parton, with Todd and Nanny sharing stories about her kindness over the years, her legendary comebacks, and how she always managed to stay warm and nonpolitical no matter who she was talking to. From there, Todd turns the conversation into a full interview with his mother, asking her to walk through what life looked like growing up on the farm in the 1940s, from milking cows and listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio to her first trip to the movies to see Gone with the Wind.

Nanny opens up about her school days, the "scandalous" girl in her class who dared to smoke a cigarette, her first date with a boy who went on to become a preacher, and a few drinking stories she would rather forget, including one particular incident in a flowerbed and another involving a bush at a resort in the Cayman Islands. She also reflects on her marriage, her husband's passing, and why she has never felt the need to find anyone else.

It's a mix of laughs, nostalgia, and genuine reflection as Nanny looks back on eight decades of life. Part 2 coming next week!
