Charlie Adelson's Defense Lasted Exactly Three Hours

Charlie Adelson's defense at trial was that he was being extorted. A periodontist pulling in over three million a year told a jury he was so terrified of two hitmen that he set up a three-thousand-dollar monthly payment plan through his family's dental office. His mother signed the checks. She washed the cash. The jury deliberated for three hours and convicted him on all counts — first-degree murder, conspiracy, and solicitation.
