Ghost In The Shell 2026: Did It Live Up To The Hype? | Episode 9 & 10 + Full Season Review

The 2026 Ghost in the Shell anime has reached its conclusion—and now it's time for the FINAL VERDICT!

We review Episodes 9 & 10, break down the ending, and look back at the entire 10-episode Prime Video adaptation. Did Science SARU's incredibly faithful adaptation of Masamune Shirow's manga live up to the hype, or did the series ultimately fall short?

We discuss our disappointment with the finale, the incredible visuals, pacing problems, character development, Motoko Kusanagi's journey and identity crisis, and the larger themes of self, identity, consciousness, and what makes Ghost in the Shell so enduring.

We also compare the 2026 adaptation with Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell (1995), Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, Stand Alone Complex, Arise, and the live-action adaptations before giving our FINAL Ghost in the Shell franchise rankings.

And the biggest question: SHOULD SCIENCE SARU ADAPT THE NEXT TWO GHOST IN THE SHELL MANGA?
