What Was JP Miller Thinking at Mica's Memorial?!

JP Miller stood at the pulpit of Solid Rock Church and preached at the memorial service for his estranged wife, Mica Miller. Witnesses described his language as possessive. He spoke about her body. He centered the moment around himself. For the people who had spent months watching Mica report harassment and beg for help, the performance was the final confirmation.

Mica Miller died on April 27, 2024, at a North Carolina state park. Her death was ruled a suicide. She was 30 years old. She had served JP with divorce papers two days before. In the months leading up to her death, she filed police reports describing GPS tracking, razor blades in her tires, and a pattern of behavior she called coercive control.

Federal prosecutors charged JP Miller with cyberstalking and making false statements to investigators. The indictment alleges a harassment campaign that lasted from November 2022 until her death. He has pleaded not guilty.

Mica's family says the congregation at Solid Rock Church closed ranks around JP while Mica was systematically pushed out. The people who should have been her support system became part of the cage.
