Story Transcript:

En: In Bergen, in the heart of autumn, the wind gently blew through the colorful trees on Mount Fløyen.

No: Hver kveld, når tåken begynte å falle over byen, kunne et merkelig lys ses blinke et sted dypt inne i skogen.
En: Every evening, as the fog began to settle over the city, a strange light could be seen flickering somewhere deep in the forest.

En: It was this light that captured Sindre's curiosity.

En: Sindre was a young man with a burning desire to solve mysteries.

En: He had heard talk of this light at the café downtown.

En: Many believed it was a ghostly presence; some thought it was just nonsense.

No: Men for Sindre var det en utfordring som måtte utforskes.
En: But for Sindre, it was a challenge that had to be explored.

No: Ved siden av ham stod Astrid, hans venner og medutforsker.
En: Beside him stood Astrid, his friend and fellow explorer.

No: "Ærlig talt, Sindre," sa hun, "tror du virkelig det er noe annet enn vanlig?"
En: "Honestly, Sindre," she said, "do you really think it's anything unusual?"

No: "Jeg må vite," svarte Sindre bestemt.
En: "I have to know," replied Sindre determinedly. "And I want you to come with me."

No: Som et erfarent medlem i vennegjengen, var Leif alltid skeptisk.
En: As an experienced member of the friend group, Leif was always skeptical.

En: "It's just old tales," he said with a smile, "it's just the fog playing games with the city lights."

No: Men Sindre var allerede bestemt.
En: But Sindre was already determined.

En: He packed a small backpack with a flashlight, map, and some snacks.

En: Astrid came along, even though she herself was skeptical.

En: Together, they began to climb the familiar path on Mount Fløyen.

En: The forest was dense and the path full of wet leaves making the hike slippery.

No: Sindre ledet an med en ivrig skritt, og Astrid fulgte tett bak.
En: Sindre led with eager steps, and Astrid followed closely behind.

En: As they climbed higher, the sounds of the city faded, and they were enveloped in the forest's silence.

En: They came closer to the area where the light was said to have been seen.

En: But as they almost reached the top, storm clouds began to gather.

En: Thunder rumbled in the distance, and raindrops started to fall.

No: "Vi bør snu," ropte Astrid over vinden.
En: "We should turn back," shouted Astrid over the wind.

En: "We're so close!" replied Sindre, as he stared intently into the fog.

En: There, suddenly, he caught a glimpse of the mysterious light.

No: Det kom fra en gammel, rusten kabelvogn skjult blant trærne.
En: It came from an old, rusty cable car hidden among the trees.

En: It had been there for many years, forgotten by most.

No: Elektriske gnister skinte sporadisk gjennom sprekkene der lyspærer en gang hadde sittet.
En: Electrical sparks shone sporadically through the cracks where bulbs had once been.

En: "That's it," said Sindre triumphantly. "An old piece of history trying to speak."

No: De kjempet seg tilbake ned fjellet, kliss våte og kalde, men lettet over å ha løst mysteriet.
En: They fought their way back down the mountain, drenched and cold, but relieved to have solved the mystery.

En: When they reached the city, they reported it to the authorities.

No: Kabelvognen ble reparert, og lyset slukket for godt.
En: The cable car was repaired, and the light was extinguished for good.

En: Sindre had his belief in his own abilities confirmed and his willingness to trust the friendship with Astrid.

En: It was an adventure they would both always remember, a secret that was finally uncovered.

En: And from that day on, when the fog lay like a blanket over Bergen, there was one thing Sindre knew for sure: Sometimes the greatest mysteries are not the supernatural ones, but those that lie right before our eyes.
