Solidarity and the Immigration Debate with David Lapp, Jim Robb, and Diego Sanchez | Bonus Episode

In this bonus episode of the podcast, host Roger Berkowitz previews the 2026 Arendt Forum at Bard College on Solidarity, framing Arendt’s view of solidarity as an intellectual practice of building a common world through talk rather than sentiment. He is joined by Braver Angels co-founder David Lapp, NumbersUSA’s Jim Robb, and Presidents' Alliance's Diego Sanchez. They describe Braver Angels’ origins in 2016, its red-blue workshops, and the Citizens Commission on Immigration created after Braver Angels’ 2024 convention made immigration a priority. Sanchez, a former undocumented immigrant and now immigration lawyer, and Robb, influenced by Barbara Jordan’s reform agenda, discuss how structured dialogue has enabled opposing advocacy “sides” to meet for the first time.
