Putin’s Plan Is Working—Because the West Keeps Calling It “Hybrid”

I watched this speech three times because it explains something the West still refuses to confront: Russia has found ways to wage war without forcing us to recognize that we are under attack. Strategic adviser Avi Shahar argues that expressions such as “hybrid warfare” and “below the Article 5 threshold” disguise what Russia is actually doing. The Kremlin manipulates political divisions, changes how we understand Western values, and simultaneously persuades parts of the left to reject patriotism while convincing parts of the right that Putin defends traditional values. I examine his argument, where I believe he is right, and why the Kremlin benefits every time Western leaders substitute carefully worded statements for meaningful consequences.
