What Investigators Found Inside the Flynn Home That Destroyed the Break-In Story

When Tipp City police, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the FBI walked into the Flynn home on Cunningham Court, they were responding to a 911 call about a home invasion. A husband on the phone sobbing about an intruder who shot his wife. Within hours, the break-in story was falling apart. The physical evidence inside that house didn't match the narrative Caleb Flynn had given the 911 dispatcher. Initial charging documents acknowledged that officers were briefly misled by the staging but quickly identified it as manufactured. Ashley Flynn was 37 — a middle school volleyball coach, a substitute teacher, and a mother of two young daughters. She was shot twice in the head on February 16, 2026. Her husband was arrested 82 hours later. A Miami County grand jury returned 11 charges — aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, three counts of tampering with evidence, and two counts of witness intimidation. His bond was set at $3.5 million.
