Caleb Flynn Says a Burglar Stole His Gun the SAME Night Ashley Was Killed

The coincidence at the center of Caleb Flynn's defense is the kind of story that either saves him or buries him. He claims someone broke into his Ford pickup truck and stole his 9mm handgun. Then that person entered his Tipp City home and used the weapon to shoot his wife Ashley twice in the head. All on the same night, while Caleb and their daughters were in the next room. The prosecution says Caleb staged the entire thing. He was arrested within 82 hours and indicted on 11 counts including aggravated murder. His bond was set at $3.5 million. Ashley was 37, a volleyball coach and substitute teacher in Tipp City. Now the trial is underway in Miami County, and the defense is facing an uphill battle on multiple fronts. A judge ruled that the woman with whom Caleb was allegedly having an affair can testify. His own daughters are on the prosecution's witness list and will provide testimony via audio recording only. And the physical evidence at the scene — which investigators from three agencies flagged as staged almost immediately — will be laid out for twelve jurors to evaluate.
