Trial Of Caleb Flynn Day 6: Why Was This Alleged Hit Tip Dropped?!

Digital crime investigator Andrea Kinzig faced a defense cross-examination in the Caleb Flynn trial that put an unpursued tip squarely in front of the jury. Kinzig testified that investigators did not follow up on Zachary McIntosh's tip about a supposed hit on Caleb Flynn by Chris Hill because Tipp City Police and the FBI collectively agreed not to pursue it. Flynn is charged in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn, and has pleaded not guilty.

Kinzig also testified about the Flynn home's Blink camera system. According to records obtained from Amazon, she said cameras at the front door, back door, and living room were last online on January 26, weeks before Ashley's death. During cross, Kinzig acknowledged that, theoretically, Alleigha Botner's reported loss of a laptop could have been a ruse.

The defense highlighted communications that cast Caleb in a positive light, including affectionate texts between Caleb and Ashley with repeated "I love you" messages. Redirect brought the fight over context. Kinzig testified that the defense records were cherry-picked rather than a complete communications history, and she said she could not verify the accuracy of the data she was shown.

The defense says Ashley was killed by a home invader and investigators rushed to judgment. Prosecutors allege Caleb staged the scene to resemble a burglary.
