Saturday Morning Calm: Your Five-Minute Stress Reset Before the Day Takes Over

Saturday Morning Calm: Your Five-Minute Stress Reset Before the Day Takes Over

Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and I'm so glad you're here. You know, Saturday mornings can feel like they're already asking too much of us before we've even had our coffee, right? Maybe you've got a full weekend ahead, or maybe you're just noticing that tension creeping up your shoulders when you're not paying attention. Either way, you've done something really wise by showing up for yourself right now. So let's take a few minutes together to dial down that stress dial and remember what calm actually feels like. Go ahead and get comfortable wherever you are. You don't need to be perfect about this. Sit, lie down, stand if that's what feels right. Just find a position where your body can actually relax instead of holding itself like you're waiting for bad news. And whenever you're ready, let your eyes close or soften your gaze downward. Now let's start with something I call the five-count breath. Breathe in through your nose for a count of five. Really feel that air traveling in, cool and fresh. Hold it for just a second at the top. Then exhale slowly, like you're releasing something you no longer need. Do this three times on your own, no rush. Here's where the magic happens. I want you to imagine your stress as something visible, something you can actually see. Maybe it's like storm clouds hovering above you, or thick fog, or even just a tense knot of rope. Whatever image comes to you naturally, that's the right one. As you breathe in, imagine drawing in calm, clear light. As you exhale, see that stress, that fog, that knot, loosening and drifting away. You're not forcing it out. You're simply allowing it to dissolve like sugar in warm water. Keep breathing this way. In with the calm, out with what doesn't serve you. Notice where your body feels tighter and breathe directly into those spots. Your shoulders, your jaw, your chest, wherever stress likes to hide in you. With each exhale, let it soften just a little more. You're doing beautifully. Slowly, when you're ready, bring your awareness back to the room. Gently open your eyes. And here's my challenge for you today: pick one moment during your weekend, maybe over your morning coffee or while you're waiting for something, and practice that five-count breath. Just one minute. That's your anchor. That's how you carry this calm forward. Thank you so much for spending this time on stress relief with me. If this resonated with you, please subscribe so you never miss a practice. You deserve this peace. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
