Lawrence Family: “Collateral Damage” | MURDERISH Ep. 140

When someone gets involved in the drug trade, violence usually isn’t far behind. It’s a dangerous path to tread where survival can hinge almost entirely upon alliances. If you piss off the wrong person, you might pay with your life. In the late 1980s, Missouri native Darrell Mease encountered an opportunity he couldn’t turn down. The 42-year-old carpenter was hired by Lloyd Lawrence, who happened to be a kingpin in a local methamphetamine ring. Instead of considering the danger he might face, Mease was blinded by dollar signs. This chance encounter set Mease’s life on a deeply violent trajectory. It would escalate into an extreme act of revenge outside a serene cabin in the Ozark mountains where an entire family would be murdered. “Tricia Todd, Faith & Forgiveness” | MURDERISH Ep. 070

“Tricia Todd, Faith & Forgiveness” | MURDERISH Ep. 070

In April of 2016, Air Force veteran and hospice nurse Tricia Todd mysteriously vanished from a tranquil beachside town. The 33-year-old mother of one was vivacious, compassionate, and well-liked in her community. No one could ever imagine she would abandon her young daughter, and the notion of someone wanting to harm her was equally unfathomable. Years of secrecy obscured a daunting truth, one that wouldn’t be fully unveiled until it was much too late. Check us out: Visit Murderish.com for more info about the show and Creator/Host, Jami. The Abduction of Frank Sinatra Jr. | MURDERISH Ep. 069

The Abduction of Frank Sinatra Jr. | MURDERISH Ep. 069

The life of a celebrity is often viewed as glamorous, something that you could only dream of achieving. Walking the red carpet, rubbing elbows with A-list celebrities, and hosting lavish parties are all regular occurrences in the life of the rich and famous. This was especially true of Frank Sinatra, singer extraordinaire and mega-celebrity who was connected to a lot of powerful people. Sinatra, known as The Chairman of the Board, had connections to some of the highest seats in government. His fame also led him to be deeply connected with the mob. Sinatra was a huge star, so when his teenage son, Frank Jr., went missing in December of 1963 the world took notice. Did Sinatra’s connections with the mob lead to his son’s abduction, or could this have all been a self-planned ruse for Junior to get out from under his father’s shadow and make a name for himself? Join me as I walk you through the abduction of Frank Sinatra Jr. Check us out: Visit Murderish.com for more info about the show and Creator/Host, Jami. S&S Liquor Store Murders, “A Family Affair” | MURDERISH Ep. 068

S&S Liquor Store Murders, “A Family Affair” | MURDERISH Ep. 068

On October 27, 1988, McLean County Coroner William Anderson had just come from the Central Catholic vs. University High School football game. Afterward, he was due to meet with members of his re-election campaign to go over strategies. Before the meeting, Anderson was volunteered by the others to get beer for the meeting. He went to the closest store, S&S Liquor Store, located at 703 N. Clinton Street in Bloomington-Normal Illinois. Anderson grabbed a six-pack and headed home for the strategy session. Just two to three minutes later, after having made it only a few blocks, Anderson’s pager went off, alerting him to go back to S&S Liquor Store. When he returned, he stepped straight into one of the worst tragedies in the town’s history. Join me as I walk you through the tragedy known as the S&S Liquor Store Murders.
