Media expert Asa Shapira is Ido Aharoni’s guest in this episode. He serves as the Head of Marketing and Advertising Strategy Track, Department of Communication. Joined the Department of Communication in 2020. Expert on media, fake news, politics, etc. For more than a decade, he had been managing the advertising strategy of some of the leading brands in Israel. He gained his experience working at leading advertising agencies such as McCann, Adler Chomsky, Reuveni Friedan, and as VP of Strategy and LEAD Partner at OGILVY. Today, as an independent professional, he specializes in researching consumer behavior while integrating insights from cultural research to behavioral economics and evolutionary psychology. He holds an MA in Political Communication from the Hebrew University, alongside studies in marketing and advertising at the University of Illinois.

In this episode we discussed the historical background of the evolution of information in media in recent history, its main features and challenges, the impact of AI, fake news, regulatory environment, and the unique case of Israel.
