DCS's Forgotten Module from the Forgotten War. F-86 Sabre

DCS's Forgotten Module from the Forgotten War. F-86 Sabre

The F-86 Sabre is one of DCS’s most underrated jets. In this episode, Harper, FiFi, and Scud make the case for giving it another look. They explore the Saber’s Korean War history, its strengths and frustrations in DCS, and why this challenging early jet can be so rewarding to fly.

From six .50-caliber guns and a temperamental radar-ranging gunsight to tricky bomb systems, rocket attacks, and the infamous LAB bomb toss, the crew gets into the details that make the F-86 distinctive. They also compare it with the MiG-15, discuss the Saber’s dogfighting strengths and weaknesses, and share what happened when Harper and Scud went head-to-head.

The conversation asks a bigger question, too: does this excellent but overlooked module need a proper Korean War home in DCS? The hosts talk about the aircraft, missions, and campaigns that could help bring the era to life, and look ahead to the MiG-17 and other jets that might add to it.

Expect aviation history, hands-on DCS talk, plenty of laughs, and a few detours into flight sims and gaming along the way.
