#209: Summer Smith Has a Band! | Belle & Chain

Nomad and Lola sit down with Americana duo Belle & Chain - Spencer and Davis to talk about the art of songwriting, the power of creative partnership, and what it takes to build an independent music career. Spencer shares how a life-changing injury led her to pick up an instrument and discover a new way to tell stories through music. Together, they explore blending instinct with musical training, finding a sound rooted in Western folk and rock, recording their first songs, and bringing a live show to life. They also get into touring as an acoustic duo, landing gigs, collaborating with top-tier musicians, and the persistence required to grow as artists. It’s a conversation about turning setbacks into momentum, showing up for the work, and creating music that connects. The opportunity usually comes before you feel ready. Don’t wait until the audition, session, tour, or referral lands in your inbox to start treating your career like a business. 👉 GET THE GIG: https://www.thecareermusician.com/get-the-gig Talent gets attention.
