Letter to C — Part 1: Being in Love

Being in Love is an open letter about the overwhelming attempt to define a feeling that cannot be made logical, equal, or safe. Moving through scars, bodies, private language, time, pain, trust, loneliness, and asymmetry, the speaker tries to protect his own experience of being in love from being judged or reduced by someone else’s understanding of it. It is a confession about longing, acceptance, vulnerability, and the strange dignity of loving differently, even when the feeling is not returned in the same way.
