In September 2018, 42-year-old Dean Hair sent a text message to his mom that he was taking a job cleaning and painting apartments in Greensboro, N.C. That was the last time his family heard from him, and when his parents went to visit him at his apartment in Raleigh in October 2018, they discovered no one had seen him for weeks. At the time he went missing, Dean didn't have a phone, and his belongings and car were left behind at the apartment complex.
