We are halfway there!​The revival was just getting started when 56-year-old farmer Rowland Stuart Taylor felt a wave of nausea and abdominal discomfort. Thinking it was just something he ate, Stuart fidgeted but wanted to stay for the revival. As the service went on, he began to feel worse and worse. He also didn’t want to disappoint his girlfriend, 45-year-old Velma Barfield, by leaving, so he decided to go out to the truck to lie down for a while. When the revival ended, Velma returned to the truck and drove them home. She had to stop the vehicle at least once for Stuart to throw up on the side of the road. Assuming he had one of the many strains of influenza, Stuart asked a friend to care for his pigs “just until I get over this flu.” Stuart never got over the flu. He died two days later.Stuart had not died of natural causes.
