You're Worth It: Checking Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

The next time you're feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or just plain tired of life, take a moment to check yourself.

What are you doing to make yourself feel that way? Are you getting enough sleep and exercise? Is your diet balanced? Are you taking care of yourself in other ways?

Doing these things can help combat the negative feelings that sometimes come with being human.

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, but it's important to take some time for yourself. You don't have to make it elaborate—just take a few minutes out of your day to check yourself.

Think about what you're doing, why you're doing it, and if there are any changes you'd like to make. Then, take action!

If you think your behavior needs adjusting, then make a plan for doing so. For example, if you're feeling anxious about something, write down a list of ways in which you can reduce that anxiety (e.g., taking a walk outside). If your mindset is negative or pessimistic, then write down a list of positive things that happened today (e.g., getting the promotion).

Finally, remember that this is an ongoing process—you'll never be perfect at being optimistic and positive all the time! But it's okay—we all make mistakes sometimes! The most important thing is that we keep trying because eventually these changes will become second nature and just who we are as people!

If you're still feeling down after checking yourself, ask for help from a friend or loved one. They may be able to see things from a different point of view and help lift those clouds away for good!
