Clutter and Clarity: The Relationship That Will Change Your Life!

Hi, I'm Charlotte and this is Revelation.

So, I'm gonna be honest: I used to be a bit of a hoarder. I mean, not in the way that you might think—I didn't have tons of stuff piled up all over my apartment. But there was just something about having a bunch of stuff around me that made me feel safe and happy. It was like my own little cocoon—the more stuff I had around me, the less likely anyone would bother me or make me do something I didn't want to do.

But then something happened: my boyfriend moved in with me! And suddenly, all these things that had once felt so cozy and comforting started feeling cramped and suffocating. The clutter became overwhelming and claustrophobic, and every time he came into the room, he'd find another item that needed to be cleaned out or thrown away. At first it was kind of cute—like "Oh wow, look at how much we can throw away together!" But after a while it became more like "Why do we have so much useless junk???"

And then one day it hit me: this wasn't about him—it was about me! And so began my journey in decluttering. To me, it's just getting rid of stuff that you don't need. And it can be anything: clothes, furniture, books, knick-knacks—anything that doesn't make you feel good when you look at it or use it anymore. It's kind of like cleaning out your closet but on a bigger scale.

Nowadays we have so many different things competing for our attention, and we have less time than ever before to make decisions about what we want in our lives. So having less stuff around us helps us focus on what matters most when we're trying to make important choices about how we spend our time and energy. It also helps us avoid having too much "stuff" weighing down our homes or making us feel like we don't have enough space for all of our favorite things!

I'm a pretty happy person, but I'll admit that I used to be less so. My house was cluttered and messy, and it made me feel overwhelmed.

I've since learned that decluttering is a great way to increase your happiness. When you're surrounded by clutter, it just feels like there's no room in your life for anything else—and that can make you feel like there's no room in your life for fun or comfort or happiness.

When you live with less stuff, though, everything becomes easier. You don't have to spend any time cleaning or organizing; you just have more space for yourself and the things that matter to you. That extra time and space can be used for making memories with friends and family, relaxing after work (or school), and doing things that make you happy!

I realized that the only way to change all these things was by making some changes in my life, but it felt overwhelming at first. Decluttering is not just about getting rid of stuff—it's about making room for better things in your life! It can be really difficult at first because it requires you to take stock of all your belongings and decide what matters most in your life at this moment in time. It means letting go of some things so that you can make room for better ones.

So what did I do? I started small: one thing at a time. And now here we are!
