Reevaluating Your Goals: A Guide to Not Wasting Your Life

Let's talk about goal-setting. It's been said that 90% of people who set goals fail to achieve them. And I'd be willing to bet that most of those people don't even know they're failing! They have no idea why they aren't achieving their goals, and it can be a super frustrating process.

But here's the thing: it doesn't have to be that way. If you're not hitting your targets, it's not because you're doing something wrong—it's because your goals are wrong! You need to reevaluate them and make sure they're on track with your values, beliefs, and priorities.

And that's what we'll talk about today: how often should you reevaluate your goals? How do you know when it's time for an update? And what makes a good goal?

Reevaluating your goals can be an important part of maintaining your success, but it's also something that many people struggle to do.

I'm sure you've heard it before: "If you don't know where you're going, how will you know when you get there?" But what if you do know where you're going? And what if you've already gotten there? Do you still need to keep pursuing those goals?

The first step is to make sure that you actually have a goal in the first place. If you don't have a goal, then there's nothing for you to reevaluate! So make sure that whatever it is that you're doing, whether it's working towards a promotion at work or trying to lose weight, actually has a goal attached to it.

Then, once you've made sure that the goal exists, take some time every month or so (whatever works for your schedule) and reevaluate where things stand with respect to the goal. Ask yourself whether or not what you're doing is getting closer or further away from achieving that goal. If it's getting closer, great! Keep going until it stops getting closer—then stop and figure out what needs changing so that things start moving forward again. If it's not getting any closer? Well… maybe try again with another strategy—but hopefully not just blindly repeating what hasn't worked so far!

The truth is, if you're not reevaluating your goals, you're not going to get anywhere. If you want to achieve something, it's important that you understand the purpose behind it and whether or not it's working for you.
