The long chase for Iggy Pop

Lena Nordlund is completely bowled over by Iggy Pop when she sees him in concert in 1986. Later, as a journalist she decides to get an interview with him. But it takes ten years before she gets a yes.

Iggy Pop has been called the godfather of punk and is known for wild live performances. And also for his shirtless body, his time in the band the Stooges and his cooperation with David Bowie.

For Lena he´s also a company on the radio while she´s cooking at home, and she has a long lasting love for his music and artistry. Now, at last, she will meet him, both as the fan she is, and as a science journalist.

Iggy Pop is also a big inspiration to never give up – a musician who went through many hardships in the beginning of his career, but always kept going.

In October 20, 2022, Lena Nordlund received the Swedish radio award Guldörat (the Golden Ear), “Interview of the year” for her interview with Iggy Pop. The documentary was made in 2022.
