119: Dennis Scott | Boston Celtics | David Lee | NBA
It’s been a pretty busy off-season for the Boston Celtics with a lot of acquisitions. Many have been dissected endlessly. One that hasn’t been is the pick-up from the Golden State Warriors, David Lee. But LHR will do so on this week’s episode of Celtics Beat. How will he impact the team? What does he bring to the table? And could he presence be a negative? You’d be surprised at the answers. And what should we make of the Celts frontcourt depth? That is our Reacht Question of the Week. Dennis Scott of NBAtv will be this week’s guest. What does he feel of team chemistry? Can having too much not be a good thing. That and more as LHR will catch-up with the longtime NBA veteran with Celtics and NBA talk on this week’s show. 118: Kyle Draper | NBA Schedule Release | NBA | Boston Celtics
The NBA schedule has been released and the Boston Celtics will be featured seven times on national TV, but not on Christmas Day. What do you think of that? That is our Reacht Question of the Week. Kyle Draper of Comcast Sports Net New England will return to the show to discuss and breakdown this week’s schedule with LHR. How will the schedule affect the team? And what games should fans be most inclined to see? Kyle will discuss that and add his thoughts on the team and more on this week’s edition of Celtics Beat. Around the NBA in 5 will of course further delve into the schedule, as LHR will take a look at the whole slate. Suffice to say he’s appalled by how frequently the Los Angeles Lakers will be on television. 117: Sekou Smith | NBA Off-Season | NBA | Boston Celtics
There may not be a lot to talk about regarding the NBA in August, but LHR has plenty on his mind with both Boston Celtics and NBA topics. Is one of them contrived? LHR seems to think so, as the primary story regarding the Celtics in August has been on whether or not the franchise should unretire jersies. The host doesn’t have much to say about that, but it is our Reacht Question of the Week. But back to NBA talk: Sekou Smith of NBA.com will return to Celtics Beat as today’s guest. The doldrums are here. Could that be shortened by lengthening the NBA season? And what else could the league do to cure what little deficiencies the league has? There are a few NBA storylines, so Around the NBA in 5 will make a triumphant return this week as well. Another week, another trade for the Boston Celtics. A veteran last week, this week they have agreed to a deal in principle with the Oklahoma City Thunder for forward Perry Jones III. Risk-free pick-up or detrimental to team building? LHR gives reasons as to why he’s not all too thrilled with the move. What about your take on the trade? That is our Reacht Question of the Week Michael Smith of Prime Ticket/FOX Sports will return to the show to cap off the discussion on the now famed DeAndre Jordan fiasco. 113: Amin Elhassan | Tom Westerholm | Boston Celtics | NBA Offseason
The hunk of free agency has come and gone as we now possibly shift into trade season. The Boston Celtics still need to round out their roster and may have begun that process by trading for Golden State Warriors big man David Lee. Where does he fit in the rotation? That is our Reacht Question of the Week But the real question is: Are the Celtics done? And what about the rest of the NBA, what can we expect now as the off-season motors along? Celtics Beat and CLNS Radio welcomes ESPN’s Amin Elhassan and MassLive’s Tom Westerholm to the show to discuss all things NBA and Celtics. 112: Sean Deveney | Boston Celtics | Amir Johnson | NBA Off-Season
From the NBA season to the off-season: amassing the roster for the 2016 Boston Celtics and other NBA teams has begun. Free agency kicked off back on Wednesday and the Celtics struck with Toronto Raptors Amir Johnson while also re-upping Jonas Jerebko and Jae Crowder. Yay or Nay? Larry H. Russell gives it a meh while also talking many fans off the bridge. The Celtics rainy day fun is still loaded and it turns out that certain options just didn’t present themselves. There’s no reason to be upset but unfortunately the patience must continue. In the mind of one LHR, he doesn’t think that Boston being unable to land a big fish is an indictment on Boston but what do you think? That is our Reacht Question of the Week Sean Deveney of Sporting News will be back to discuss all that transpired and what lies ahead for the Celtics. Attention now turns to the trade market to fill out the roster of the roster. What are potential targets for the Celtics and what does Sean think of the Celts off-season thus far? Not a bad week to go Around the NBA in 5 either.
