5. Neutral International Spanish | The BBC approach | José Baig part 2 of 3

This is part 2 of a very revealing conversation with Jose Baig, a Venezuelan journalist who has lived and worked in 10 countries so far and among several very relevant positions, he has been an international correspondent for the BBC. Also author and creator of La Cocinita de Papá; Dad’s Little Kitchen.

The conversation delves into something we don’t think about very much and it is the different types of Spanish within the United States; and Jose Baig is quite the guy to talk about this since we went across the United States twice talking to Spanish speakers while conducting an study on the subject for the BBC.

And we also talk about the BBC approach to the Spanish language since they’re trying to reach all Spanish speakers around the world. How do they pull that off, if there are different types of Spanish? Is there really something we can call neutral international Spanish? What do you think?

Spanish We Do is hosted by José Erre and it's a production of SpanishWeDo.com; a translation and localization team for text, subtitles and voice-over from English into Spanish and Spanish into English.
