Only YOU can end a covenant with a narcissist, and it is not in a narcissist's interests to end this unspoken agreement with you. The illusion created by a narcissist upon discard is that it is they that hold the power to control the relationship's trajectory and that it is you that need them. The facts of the situation are that narcissists cannot exist without narcissistic supply and others believing in their false mask, thus they nearly always hoover.
