On Empowerment with Teacher King Randall

Frederick Douglass said that “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

There’s a young man in Albany, Georgia that I’ve been watching rise for about a year now. His name is King Randall and he lives up to his name. At the young age of 21, he is making moves in the black community that even his community doesn’t believe could be possible. He is building something that began as a dream in his own home to a fully functioning boarding school for young men, focusing on self-sufficiency, accountability, literacy, and marketable skills. In his community, in dire need of strong leadership, he is leading the way in building strong men and minds. They are currently working on outfitting their new physical building, developing the curriculum and reviewing applications to accept 400 students.

I am so grateful that he took the time to share his story, his vision and to speak with me on empowerment. King is the real deal and he is doing the hard work. I want to be more like King.
