Segunda parte de mi conversacion con Bertha Fabregues. Bertha es madre y maestra con la misión de enseñar a los niños a amar y respetar su cultura y otras culturas. Bertha es orgullosamente peruana. Una de las que se fueron del Perú, pero nunca olvidó de dónde venía. Ha pasado los últimos 10 años enseñando a los niños a hablar, leer y escribir en inglés y español. Su amor por el bilingüismo comenzó en el salón de clases y ahora es promueve la educación bilingüe. Como maestra, Bertha siempre aconseja a los padres a hablar su lengua materna con sus hijos. Espera que los padres se sepan que, al hacerlo, les están dando a sus hijos uno de los mejores regalos que podrían darles. ¡Ser bilingüe es un regalo que te abrirá muchas puertas!

The second half of my conversation with Bertha Fabregues. Bertha is a mom and a teacher on a mission – to teach children how to love and respect their culture and other cultures around the world. Bertha is a proud Peruvian. One of those who left Peru, but never forgot where she came from.

She has spent the last 10 years teaching children how to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish. Her love for bilingualism started in the classroom and now she is a Dual Language Advocator.

As a teacher, Bertha always encourages parents to speak their native language with their children. She hopes parents realize that, by doing this, they are giving their children one of the best gifts they could ever give them. Being bilingual is a gift that will open many doors!
