The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Jack from Quantified Performance

Semi Automatic Precision Rifle Competition, hello, Jack from Quantified Performance is on the Podcast today.

For details,

https://quantifiedperformance.com/about-us/

Quantified Performance, LLC is focused on building a community of safe, high-performing firearm owners and users. By focusing on metrics such as group size, match performance, and several other methods, the community can show skills growth and highlight shooting sports and the people that make those activities possible.

We are a small, veteran-owned company focused on competition. The idea came from hours of travel to and from various competitions around the country and our desire to improve performance. We wanted to bring a community together that offered more to competitors and sponsors than currently available.

Open Division. This division is intended to provide a competitive atmosphere for rifle systems that are purpose-built for mid-to-long range competitive events.

-Barrels in excess of 20.1 inches, as measured from the face of the closed bolt to the face of the muzzle will classify as “Open Division”. Suppressors, flash hiders, and brakes DO NOT count toward the overall barrel length.

-No limit to magazine capacity

Practical Precision Division. This division is intended to provide a competitive atmosphere for mid-to-long range rifles that are appropriate for real-world use, specifically service and department issued rifle systems (and similar).

- Barrels must be less than 20.1 inches, as measured from the face of the closed bolt to the face of the muzzle. Suppressors, flash hiders, and brakes DO NOT count toward the overall barrel length.

- Magazine capacity is limited to 20 rounds.

General Purpose Division. This division is intended to encompass practical rifles and carbines with general purpose optics that are not purpose-built for a competitive edge in mid-to-long range application. Failing to meet the constraints of the division will result in the competitor being moved to “Practical Precision” or “Open” divisions, as applicable. - Barrels must be less than 18.5 inches, as measured from the face of the closed bolt to the face of the muzzle. Suppressors, flash hiders, and brakes DO NOT count toward the overall barrel length. -Available maximum magnification of 8.5x, per verified optical performance, or manufacturer marking on optic, verified by manufacturer specification per model, whichever is higher. Variable power optics with higher than 8.5x may be used with the provision that the lowest power available is 1.5x or below. The addition of a secondary optic does not qualify as meeting the 1.5x or below criteria. -No limit to magazine capacity. -Will not exceed a caliber of .30 inches or a velocity of 2,900 ft/s.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 86 Passion vs Payout

The Everyday Sniper Episode 86 Passion vs Payout

The Everyday Sniper Episode 86 Passion vs Payout  So I have been getting a lot of feedback regarding the PRS talk in the Gunwerks episode. So I wanted to address it as best I could. I have been getting a lot of calls on the subject of the PRS and my take on the ROI etc. So without wanting to go down the rabbit hole, I venture anyway and hopefully put this to bed. I really have no interest in discussing the PRS as a series anymore. I have no issue with talking competition I just dont want to venture down this path.  It's not productive and I am not a member, nor am I hosting a match that belongs to a series. I appreciate the passion, but I am gonna check out of this discussion.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 83 Gunwerks Blown Primers

The Everyday Sniper Episode 83 Gunwerks Blown Primers

The Everyday Sniper Episode 83 Gunwerks Blown Primers I am here in Cody, WY, getting ready for the registration and sight in day at the Gunwerks PRS match.  I managed to dope and check everything usng the Tikka Tac A1. Everything went like clockwork with the 130gr Prime ammo, but switching to the hot and heavy handload it immediately blew a primer and broke the bolt.  Lucky I was able to swap bolts to work  Spring handloads in a hot summer rifle is not the answer here and I need to go mild.  Thanks for listening to the Everyday Sniper and hopefully you can learn from the mistakes I make. Cheers,

The Everyday Sniper Episode 82 Gunwerks Pre Match

The Everyday Sniper Episode 82 Gunwerks Pre Match

The Everyday Sniper Episode 82 Gunwerks Pre Match  Just getting ready to leave for the Cody Wy Gunwerks Match and ran into an issue with my Tikka Tac A1 in the heat. Popped 2 primers killed my ejector, had to run to MHSA to fix it.  Logan took care of me, and got me back up and running.   Because my range session was cut short, I am consider going 100% to my Prime Ammo load. Though I mix in some 136gr Scenars because I am expecting the wind to be bad.  With my LH Gain Twist Barrel both loads are zeroed together. This is the benefit of the Gain Twist Barrel. Lots going on, conversations on Sniper's Hide, talking wind, BCs, Truing, and all those recurring topics.  Thanks for listening and Sharing.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 80 Alaska After Action with Marc and Frank

The Everyday Sniper Episode 80 Alaska After Action with Marc and Frank  Marc Taylor and I have finished up this block of classes and go over a few of the highlights for you. The fundamentals of marksmanship, the difference between teaching guys with hunting rifle vs tactical rifles.  We see a lot of variety in students and that in my opinion makes us better instructors.  Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of it.
