Darren Turner | The Parc Fermé Downshift Podcast

If you are a regular listener, you'll know that Paul Charsley works for the Heart of Racing team in IMSA racing the immaculate Aston Martin car. As the Sporting Manager, Paul is steeped in all things racing and one fo the benefits is his access to the drivers and paddock of the IMSA series.
As we speak, the 24 Hours of Dayton is starting and here is a very nice interview with a fantastic driver for the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin, Darren Turner. Darren didn't start our racing Aston Martins, he was an open-wheel guy and you'll love the stories of how he got in to racing back in the UK and his approach to his race craft in sports cars.
Darren Turner
Darren Turner is one of the UK's most successful and experienced racing drivers. His talent was recognised early in his career when he won the much-coveted McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, joining an elite group of racers including David Coulthard, Dario Franchitti and Lando Norris.
Darren worked for many years as a test driver for the McLaren F1 Team, alongside a busy racing career in single-seaters, touring cars and sportscars.
Since 2005 Darren has been a key member of the Aston Martin Racing team, a partnership that has seen him win the toughest race of them all, the Le Mans 24 Hours three times.
In 2019/20 Darren is racing the Aston Martin Vantage GTE in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He also competes in many other categories around the world for customer teams.
Darren continues in his role as high performance development driver for Aston Martin Lagonda.

FBC Downshift- NBC's Steve Matchett

FBC Downshift- NBC's Steve Matchett

It is always a great honor to have my friend Steve Matchett on the show. Steve's not only a championship-winning Formula 1 mechanic, he's one of the finest authors I know who has written several terrific books on the sport of F1. If that wasn't enough, he is also a critical part of the NBC Sports F1 broadcast trinity including David Hobbs and Leigh Diffey. In this episode I ask Steve about the testing in Barcelona, what Mercedes looks like for the 2016, does Ferrari have it in them to take the battle to Merc, Haas F1, and much, much more. You won't want to miss this interview with one of the sport's brightest voices. A huge thank you to Steve for taking nearly an hour and a half to share his insight and wisdom on the sport we love!
