CR Ep 022: Cryptozoology at the 2022 Southeast Texas Bigfoot Roadshow

In this episode of the Curious Realm host Christopher Jordan visits the 2022 Southeast Texas Bigfoot Roadshow in Mineola, Texas. While there, we have conversations with cryptozoologists, paranormal investigators and even artists of the paranormal.
We begin the day speaking with Ken Gerhard, cryptozoologist, and researcher, discussing the viable possibility of creatures such as Bigfoot and other cryptids being found with modern technology and research methods. We also cover the fact that there seem to be more reported sightings on or around Native American land. Could the species known as Sasquatch and other cryptids be so accustomed to neighboring tribes that you are more likely to have a sighting on or near reservations?
Next, we sit down with Charlie D. Perez, owner, and creator of “Paranormal in Plastic”, a line of custom-made figurines representing famous cryptids, paranormal beings as well as paranormal and cryptozoology researchers as line of action figures!
Our third guest is owner of “Ye Old Curiosity Shoppe” in Mineola, Texas, manager of the historic Select Theater and director of the Tyler Paranormal Conference, and more. We chat about a lifetime surrounded by the paranormal and what it is like to be a psychic intuitive.
We are also joined by cryptozoologist Craig Woolheater and founder of Cryptomundo.com and the Texas Bigfoot Museum in Jefferson, Texas. During our time together we cover the topics of the changes within the cryptozoology communities over his vast 20+ years involved in the field and updates on the progress of the Texas Bigfoot Museum.
Up next is Ryan Edwards, researcher from San Antonio, Texas, and author of the book Cryptids of the World. While together we have a frank discussion regarding the many names used across the globe for the race of beings known commonly as Sasquatch as well as what is was that brought Ryan into the field of cryptozoological research.
Our final guest is Jason McLean, author of Metroplex Monsters, a book dedicated to cryptid sightings in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. During our conversation we discuss the many sighting across the Lonestar state of flying reptiles, including Jason’s own personal sighting of a Rhamphorhychus in the DFW area!
