088: Favorite Obscure Thrash

“Among their own kind they live, a life that’s so obscure…” – DEATH.

The thought of anything obscure with regard to Thrash immediately provokes thoughts of the Mall Days of Yore; a time before the existence of internet search engines, music streaming services or even social media bots to recommend bands or albums based on prior purchases. A time when word of mouth within the Thrash community held sway over a metalhead’s purchasing power.

“Blurred visions, sanity obscure…” - BELIEVER

So many hours spent, flipping through ALL of those records, tapes and CDs in the Metal sections of every record store, looking for that one band…that one album. That one obscure, impossible to find recording you’ve only heard others talk about with the utmost reverence as if it were something sacred (because it was). And then, as if guided by providence, you find it. You can’t believe your luck. There it is…
