A group of newcomers descended on a tiny east Texas town with their strange beliefs as their leader posted increasingly odd videos online claiming to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and also an extraterrestrial star commander of a galactic spaceship. They caught the eye of a journalist on TikTok reporting on cults, but once the group went viral, unsavory details about its leaders' past emerged.
