His latest book is Fluke: Chance, Chaos, and Why Everything We Do Matters. In it he explores how events of historic significance have been shaped from the smaller seemingly chance occurrences found within our highly interconnected society. Klaas's previous books have investigated despots and rigged elections with his research often focusing on democracy, authoritarianism, Trumpism, the nature of power, political violence and US foreign policy. He is also host of the award-winning podcast, Power Corrupts.
