The tears behind the triple axel triumph with figure skater Mirai Nagasu

After she was passed over for the USA team for Sochi 2014, Mirai Nagasu was done with figure skating.

“It wasn’t fun… I used to think, ‘I deserve to sit here in my puddle of tears and cry.’”

She vowed to make a comeback and became the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics – and took home Olympic bronze in the team event.

Olympic champion Meryl Davis sat down with her to speak about the 2018 Olympics, the sarcasm of her teammate Gracie Gold and how she landed that big jump.

Figure skater and two-time world champion Nathan Chen sat down with Olympic champion Meryl Davis to talk about how he recovered from his 2018 Olympic performance to winning his third Grand Prix Final in 2019. He beat Yuzuru Hanyu in Turin but the pair share a mutual respect and love competing against each other. “(He) really fires me up, makes me want to take my jumps more and makes me want to be a little bit more aggressive with my skating. I think that's something that I don't feel quite as much when he's not competing with me.” LINKS: Meryl Davis Instagram Nathan Chen Instagram Ed Knowles Twitter Olympic Channel Instagram Gracie Gold episode
