When you learn about American History, starting with the Colonial Era, most people are taught that Jamestown was the start of it. Most people have never even heard of the Colony of Roanoke and have no idea that the Colonial Era actually started over twenty years before the Jamestown settlers arrived. So why are we not taught about the Roanoke Colony?
